Homeowner’s Assistance Fund (HAF)

This only applies to Homeowners, not renters

The Homeowner Assistance Fund (HAF) is a new federally funded foreclosure prevention program that provides assistance for Arizona homeowners experiencing financial hardship due to COVID-19. If you are in danger of losing your home, the HAF program can prevent that from happening.

To qualify for HAF assistance, you must meet ALL of the following criteria:

  1. Be living at or below 150% of Area Median Income.
    • Based on county and number of residents in the home
    • Example: Maricopa County household of four with income at or below $132,450
  2. Experienced financial hardship due to COVID-19 after Jan. 21, 2020, such as:
    • Job loss
    • Reduction in income
    • Increase costs due to healthcare
    • The need to care for a family member
  3. You are applying for your primary residence located in Arizona.

If you qualify, these funds will assist with paying past-due bills up to $25,000 and may include funds toward future costs:

  • Mortgage payments
  • Utility payments
  • Property insurance and taxes
  • HOA fees
  • Internet services

To apply for HAF, you can visit this website to apply: https://haf.azhousing.gov/prescreening or call: +1 (833) 931-3600 to see if you qualify.
